About Me:

Dr. Farhana Muznebin is an academician and researcher who earned her PhD from Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2022, supported by the New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarship. Her doctoral thesis, titled "Investigation and Characterization of Pathogens and Parasites in New Zealand Aquaculture Shellfish", is part of an Aquatic Health Program funded by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). Dr. Farhana's research focused on evaluating the health status of aquaculture species in New Zealand, exploring their defense mechanisms, and examing their susceptibility to diseases. She has actively participated in international conferences and symposia to present her research, receiving the Best Poster Presentation Award at the New Zealand Society for Parasitology Conference in 2019.  Additionally, she has honored with the Young Scholar Award 2023, presented by the Nepal Aquaculture Society, during the International Conference on Science, Society, and Culture in 2023. She achieved the MFAT GOLD Standard Grade for her doctoral study at Auckland University of Technology. Dr. Farhana's works has led to numerous peer-reviewed publications in high-impact Q1 and Q2 international journals, including articles in "Aquaculture" (2025, Elsevier), "Aquaculture Research" (2024, 2022, Wiley), "Journal of Aquaculture International" (2022, Springer), "Journal of Thermal Biology" (2022, Elsevier), and the "New Zealand Journal of Marine and Freshwater Research" (2021, Taylor and Francis Ltd.). Her research interests include understanding disease progression patterns to elucidate host-parasite interactions and the transmission mechanism.
